Privacy Policy

The short version

1. Who we are

Lazy Invite ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile and desktop application published by LazyFruit. The app converts free-form text you type into standard calendar invite files (.ics / iCalendar) using artificial intelligence.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It applies to the Lazy Invite app across iOS, Android, and desktop platforms.

2. How the app processes your text

Lazy Invite can generate invites using one of two AI engines:

On-device AI (default)

By default, Lazy Invite uses an on-device AI model that runs entirely on your device. When you generate an invite this way, the text you type is processed locally and is not sent to us or to any third party. It does not leave your device.

Cloud AI (optional, off by default)

Some versions of the app may offer an optional cloud AI mode. If — and only if — you explicitly choose the cloud mode, the text of the event you are generating is sent to Google's Firebase AI (Gemini) service to produce the invite, and is subject to Google's handling of that request. We do not use this text to build a profile of you, and we do not sell it.

If the cloud mode is not present in your version of the app, all AI generation happens exclusively on your device.

3. Information stored on your device

To make the app useful, Lazy Invite stores certain information locally on your device. This data stays on your device (unless you choose to sync it — see Section 4) and is not transmitted to LazyFruit's servers:

4. Optional sync (bookmarks)

If you choose to enable bookmark synchronization, the app stores a single sync file on the WebDAV server you configure (for example, your own Nextcloud or other WebDAV host). This data goes only to the server you specify — LazyFruit does not operate this server and does not receive a copy. Your WebDAV credentials are stored in your device's secure storage and are used only to connect to your chosen server.

Sync is entirely optional and is off unless you set it up.

5. Model downloads

The on-device AI requires a model file to be downloaded once. When you download it, the app fetches the file from the model host (for example, Hugging Face) using a link and, where required, an access token that you provide. The file is then stored on your device. This request goes directly from your device to that host under their terms.

6. What we do not do

7. Calendar and file access

When you save or share a generated invite, the app produces a standard .ics file and hands it to your operating system's share or save dialog, or your calendar app. What happens next — for example, adding the event to your calendar — is handled by that app or service under its own privacy terms.

8. Children's privacy

Lazy Invite is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Your choices and rights

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated within the app.
